Sundance Vacations, a wholesale vacation company with offices in New Jersey, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Northeastern Pennsylvania, recently named the ninth winner of its annual grand prize sweepstakes.
The winner was Jennifer Gordon of Wheaton, Illinois, whose grand-prize options were $50,000 or a luxury vehicle valued at up to $70,000. Mrs. Gordon followed the lead of the previous eight winners and went for the cold, hard cash. And that’s despite the fact that Gordon and the previous winners had such vehicle options as Mercedes, Lexus, Range Rover, Cadillac and more.
Mrs. Gordon certainly beat the odds in winning the $50,000 cash prize as a total of one million entries were collected throughout the United States in 2013 by Sundance Vacations at a variety of events where entry forms were filled out by those attending concerts, shows, sporting events and more.
Mrs. Gordon’s entry was selected in a random drawing held at Sundance’s corporate headquarters in Wilkes-Barre. The Illinois woman filled out her entry last August while attending a Kane County Cougars’ baseball game with her family at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Sundance Vacations, a promotional partner of the Kane County Cougars, has a marketing office in Downers Grove, Illinois.
So, what do the Gordons plan to do with the $50,000? “We plan on using the winnings in a variety of ways including college savings plans for my children, charitable causes and a household project,” said Gordon, who attends Cougars’ games each season with her family.
“It’s always exciting when we select our grand prize winner each year. We offer our congratulations to the Gordons and the secondary prize winners of our special promotion,” said Tina Dowd, co-founder of Sundance Vacations with her husband, John.
The check presentation took place at the Kane County Cougars baseball stadium with Mrs. Gordon, Sundance Vacations’ personnel and Cougars’ representatives including General Manager Curtis Haug. “We’re very happy that a Cougars’ fan was the lucky winner chosen from one million entries. The Cougars and Sundance Vacations have enjoyed a tremendous partnership for many years. We congratulate Jennifer and her family on being named the grand prize winner,” Haug stated.
Sundance Vacations already has launched its $50,000/luxury vehicle giveaway for 2014 and the winner will be selected in a random drawing of all eligible entries on or before Feb. 1, 2015. Entry forms are collected at various venues in and around Sundance Vacations offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, D.C., and Indiana.
