5 Great Places to Spend New Year’s Eve

5 Great Places to Spend New Year’s Eve

It is amazing to think that we already have 12 months of the year behind us and are looking at turning the calendar over to 2022.  With all but a few days left of this year, many are gearing up for that all important New Year’s Eve Party to help ring in the new year and say goodbye to 2021. It’s been a crazy year for sure!

With so many great destinations to visit in the United States, the thought of traveling for New Year’s Eve may have crossed your mind.  Certainly people know of the festivities that take place at Times Square in New York City, but there are a number of other great places to consider for counting down to 2022.

Sundance Vacations has compiled a list of five great places to ring in the New Year.  Take a look and let us know what you think!  Do you travel for New Year’s or do you stay home?  Furthermore, what places would you recommend for celebrating?  Let us know in the comments below or via the Sundance Vacations Facebook page and Twitter!

1.  Denver, Colorado

The Mile-High City makes for a picturesque setting for the final day of the year.  Embedded in the Rocky Mountains, Denver offers a host of activities to keep you busy for the last 24 hours of 2021.

Denver offers many events from Opera to a new Bootlegger’s Ball.  The Denver Zoo is known for it’s popular “Zoo Year’s Eve” event, which features a Zoo Lights display and a countdown at 9 p.m. So that your little ones can have fun, but still get home and tucked into bed at a reasonable hour.  For the night owls, you can stay downtown all the way until midnight, when the sky is set ablaze with a fireworks show.  The downtown activities also feature street performers, mascots, comedians and more!

2.  Hawaii

Perhaps an Island destination, complete with the ocean and beach is the way to go for you.  Although, the time change may be only that of a few hours, you can be certain that the difference in temperature will be much greater if you are used to the cold.  If you are looking to spend New Year’s in a warmer climate, it doesn’t get much better than Hawaii.

The Island offers a unique set of things to do and will surely make a set of lasting memories for you and your companions.  The culture-rich area of Hawaii lends its likeness to a lot of things on the island paradise, and New Year’s Eve is no exception.  A massive luau is planned every year as a send off for the previous year.  Fireworks on the beach, open-air concerts, water cruises and cultural performances are all great ways to ring in the New Year.

3.  Las Vegas, Nevada

Surprisingly, in many lists that we have seen, Las Vegas actually ranks over New York City for New Year’s Eve celebrations.  If you are into partying, Las Vegas can certainly be a very enticing choice when choosing where to celebrate the end of the year.

Starting in the late afternoon, the strip is closed down to automobile traffic and turned into a giant party.  With each casino and resort offering a different type of show or attraction, as well as the strip outside being a place for revelry, drinking and celebrating, it’s no wonder why this is such a popular destination.

If you are willing to spend a little money to get into some of the upscale nightclubs, it is said that you can rub elbows with some of the world’s most famous people and celebrities.  There are a number of fireworks displays and street performers as well as vendors spread all around the area.

4.  New York City, New York

The City that never sleeps may be one of the best known places to celebrate New Year’s Eve.  Known best for the iconic Ball that drops to count down the seconds before switching the calendar to the New Year. Make sure to check out discounts on your hotel using the Reward Stays tab on our Sundance Vacations website.

You can catch a Broadway show, eat dinner and see the sights before heading over to Times-Square for all of the festivities.  With the Rockin’ New Year’s Eve show filmed here every year, you may even get caught on camera!  There may only be one drawback to this event, you need to dress warmly.  Temperatures in the northeast get pretty low in the winter and it may be best to plan accordingly.  Especially if you are going to be outside for an extended period of time. If you’re staying at Woodfield Manor with Sundance Vacations, you will be just about 2 hours away from Time Square!

5.  Orlando, Florida (Disney World)

For a family-oriented version of the New Year, perhaps celebrating with your favorite mouse is the way to go.  Disney World and its number of parks and resort hotels offer a number of activities and attractions for the holidays.

Parades and shows go on during the night, some even early enough for you to watch and still get the kids to bed before midnight.  Fireworks shows may also be something that can help you to ring in the New Year.  With some of the parks closing down early, adults can visit Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney and enjoy all of the nightlife it has to offer.

So there you have it.  Five great places in the United States for you to say goodbye to the old year, and hello to the new one.

From all of us here at Sundance Vacations, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and hope that you and yours get to experience travel, adventure and memories in 2022!
